Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps Performance in Ghana Q2 2021

During the second quarter of 2021, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Ghana showcased varying trends in their performance metrics. Here’s a detailed look at how these apps fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Bolt: Request a Ride saw significant activity in Q2 2021. Weekly downloads peaked at around 118K in early April but saw a gradual decline, ending the quarter at approximately 61K. Active users, however, maintained relatively higher consistency, peaking at about 766K in late May before settling around 724K by the end of June.

Uber - Request a ride experienced more stable metrics. Weekly downloads hovered around 8K, with minor fluctuations, peaking at nearly 9K in late June. Active users saw a small decline from approximately 437K at the start of the quarter to around 418K by the end of June.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery showed a more modest performance. Weekly downloads remained under 8K, with a peak of about 7.7K in early April. Active users fluctuated but stayed within the range of 28K to 36K throughout the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had relatively lower downloads compared to the passenger app. Weekly downloads peaked at approximately 1.6K in early April and saw a slight decline towards the end of the quarter. Active users were consistent, ranging between 17K to 20K.

Lastly, Yango Pro (Taximeter) - driver had minimal activity with weekly downloads peaking at around 500 in late May. The app did not show significant active user data during this period.
